About Uncle Zhou
Located at 8200 Preston Rd, Plano, TX 75024, Uncle Zhou operates as a chinese restaurant serving Plano in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Plano; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Texas are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–3 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (469) 929-6622. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is unclezhoutx.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 911 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Plano is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Plano follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great food with excellent flavors. Service was fast on a weeknight. Delicious mix of flavors and the pork belly was so good - flavorful and tender. If you like celery, highly recommend the sauteed celery. Goes great with the noodles. And of course you can't go wrong with potatoes. Really glad I tried something new and looking forward to coming back here.

Been wanting to come here since they opened but never worked out but glad we finally got to. Their noodles were such a good texture! Chewy, bouncy and held onto sauce so well. Everything was very flavorful. Next favorite was the eggplant in spicy garlic sauce.

I had a great experience at Uncle Zhou in Plano! The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a nice spot to enjoy a meal. We tried the mapo tofu and the fried fish fillets, and both dishes were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was quick and everything came out fresh. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!

Food: Came with a light appetite, so only ordered the Beef Hand-Drawn Wide Noodle, Pork Belly Henan Style, and Fried Dumpling. While the beef was tender and noodles al dente, the Beef Hand-Drawn Wide Noodle left much to be desired—the dish overall was very light in flavor. The Pork Belly Henan Style and Fried Dumplings, however, were more pleasing to the palate. Service: No complaints! We were seated immediately upon walking in, and our orders were taken and food arrived promptly. Virtually no wait on a Saturday afternoon. Ambiance: Casual, modern, traditional. Parking: Ample parking. Located in a plaza.

Finally checked out Uncle Zhou after seeing the Michelin recommendation everywhere, and yeah… it’s actually worth it. Feels like one of those lowkey spots locals try to gatekeep. The food came out fast, portions were solid, and everything tasted homemade in the best way. Noodles had that perfect chewy texture. Even the smaller side dishes were surprisingly good. Nothing felt overly fancy or forced — just really good food made properly. Service was super chill and welcoming too. You can tell they care more about the food and experience than trying to be trendy. Definitely the type of spot you bring friends to when they visit town. Already planning my next trip back.
